Shoe Giveaway Program
We’ve All Walked in Each Other’s Shoes
At SwimTruth, we believe that no one should walk through life alone—especially when the road is tough. That’s why we’ve launched our Shoe Giveaway Initiative, partnering with local churches and organizations to distribute **new and gently used shoes** to those in need. But this initiative is about more than just shoes; it’s about sharing the love of Christ, offering prayer, and reminding everyone that we’ve all walked in each other’s shoes at some point in life.
How It Works
1. Collecting Shoes:
We gather new and gently used shoes from generous donors, churches, and community partners.
2. Distribution Events:
Through partnerships with local churches and organizations, we host events where individuals and families can receive shoes free of charge.
3. Sharing Christ’s Love:
At every event, we take the opportunity to share the Gospel, offer prayer, and remind recipients that they are loved and valued by God.
4. Building Community:
These events create a space for connection, encouragement, and hope, showing that we are all in this together.
Why Shoes?
Shoes are a basic necessity, yet many in our community go without. By providing shoes, we:
- Meet a practical need.
- Open the door to share the love of Christ.
- Show compassion and care in a tangible way.
How You Can Help
1. Donate Shoes:
Clean out your closet or organize a shoe drive in your community, church, or workplace.
2. Volunteer:
Join us at distribution events to help hand out shoes, pray with recipients, and share God’s love.
3. Partner with Us:
Churches and organizations can collaborate with us to host events or spread the word.
4. Pray:
Lift up this initiative in prayer, asking God to use it to touch hearts and transform lives.

Discipleship and Mentorship
We believe that no young person should face life’s challenges alone. Our Discipleship and Mentorship Program is specifically designed to support youth in Washington, DC who have experienced trauma, such as losing a parent, sexual abuse, time in foster care, or other difficult circumstances. Through faith-based mentorship, small group discussions, and personalized care, we aim to help these young individuals find healing, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Who We Serve
This program is for youth (ages 4–18) in the Washington, DC area who have faced:
- The loss of a parent or loved one.
- Sexual abuse or exploitation.
- Time in the foster care system.
- Behavioral or emotional struggles.
- Other traumatic experiences that have left them feeling broken or lost.
How We Help
1. Faith-Based Mentorship:
Each youth is paired with a caring, trained mentor who walks alongside them, offering guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear. Mentors help participants build a strong foundation of faith and resilience.
2. Small Group Discussions:
Weekly small groups provide a safe space for youth to share their stories, process their pain, and connect with peers who understand their struggles. These groups are led by experienced facilitators who incorporate biblical teachings and practical life skills.
3. Healing Through Scripture:
We use the Bible as a source of comfort and strength, helping youth discover God’s love and promises for their lives. Topics include overcoming trauma, finding identity in Christ, and building healthy relationships.
4. Practical Support:
Beyond emotional and spiritual care, we provide resources to help youth thrive, including tutoring, career guidance, and access to counseling services.
5. Community Building:
Through group activities, outings, and service projects, we create a sense of belonging and purpose, showing youth that they are valued and loved.
Program Goals
- Healing: Help youth process trauma and find emotional and spiritual restoration.
- Hope:Show them that their past does not define their future.
